SMALL GROUPS
This church is part of a greater community beyond our four walls. Small groups are designed to bring people together over a common interest – something like reading books or playing basketball.
WE BRING PEOPLE TOGETHER BY INTEREST (AN OUTREACH OR AN ACTIVITY), BUT THE BEAUTY IN THE END IS THE RELATIONSHIPS THAT ARE FORMED, AND THE COMMUNITY BUILT.
There are two things we need as believers. First we need to sense that we are a part of something bigger than ourselves. Secondly, we need to sense that we are impacting others in close relationships.
In Acts 2 when the first church was born, and throughout the Book of Acts, we see the power of meeting in small groups:
“So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.” (Acts 2:46-47 NKJV)
“And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.” (Acts 5:42)
“I kept back nothing that was helpful, but proclaimed it to you, and taught you publicly and from house to house.” (Acts 20:20 NKJV)
Small Groups provide opportunities for:
Fellowship. I need people who know the real me.
Prayer. I need people to pray for me personally.
Support. I need people who will protect me.
Outreach. I need people with whom I can share my story.
WE HAVE TWO SEMESTERS EVERY YEAR.
Each semester is kicked off with an on-site and on-line small group fair. We have a spring semester and a fall semester every year.
